Bike Stuff

this whole thing was not easy.

HTBS grew from a simple problem: the ideal riding shirt didn’t exist. There were plenty of options, but they were either too flashy, too expensive, or didn’t actually perform as advertised. “Surely,” we thought, “somewhere in the world, there must be something better.”

The criteria was simple: low-key looks, strong technical performance, reasonable price. Not complicated, right? Shouldn’t be too hard. Steeled with resolve and brimming with hope, we set out to find the perfect riding shirt.

This endeavor soon proved our expectations wrong. 100% merino wool, gazing down from its lofty cycling pedestal, proved to be too fragile, too high-maintenance, and too expensive. Full-synthetic fibers, as tech-sounding as they are, simply don’t work well in places that have actual climates. Frustrated, we continued the search.

It took three years of riding, consideration, and constant hunting, but we found it. The perfect material: merino wool strategically blended with synthetic fibers. Trouble was, it was just material. Sheets of raw fabric. We had so shirt-ify it, and it turns out that is a s***load of work. But it was work we had to do. The world had to know.

So we sourced the material, sent some emails, found a manufacturer, designed the patterns, sent more emails, created the artwork, built the website, shot some photos, created #content, sent even more emails, redesigned the website, tried to figure out SEO, and wrote this diatribe. All because we believe that you, fellow rider, deserve something better.

So please enjoy the fruits of our labor: the low-key, high performance, merino blend tech tee.
